As I am in the process of creating a new online Vocal Freedom seminar, I am collecting treasures of inspiration. One of them is this incredible video clip of my classical voice teacher, Anne Brown, from when she starred as Bess in Porgy and Bess. She was hand picked by George Gershwin, who ended up changing the title from Porgy to Porgy and Bess after hearing her sing.
Anne took me in after the accident that left me with a traumatic brain injury and post traumatic stress, when the only thing I was able to do was to sing. With her loving guidance and support, I was able to find my authentic voice and express it powerfully.
Anne was one of several angels whose mentorship helped me become the artist and human I am today.
